Everton see the potential sale of Jarrad Branthwaite as comparable to the transfer of Harry Maguire to Josko Gvardiol and Wesley Fofana.

Maguire who was stripped of his captain armband last summer moved to Manchester United from Leicester City for £80 million in 2019.

According to The Athletic the Red Devils initial 43million bid for the 21-year-old center-back has been deemed insufficient by Everton hierarchy.

Despite Everton many financial challenges and the need to adhere to the Premier League PSR rules they are not inclined to accept a price reduction deal.
